45Labadee is one of my favorite ports! I like it better than Perfect Day at CocoCay. Labadee is the perfect beach getaway, it’s a day to truly relax. CocoCay gives major FOMO with too much to do and too much upcharge possibilities. Labadee only has 3 real up charges (zip line, water slide, roller coaster). We did buy a day bed which was well worth it, but you can go to Labadee and not spend any extra money if you want. It’s beautiful.
Just beware the local shop owners, they will pull you into their shop and seperate you from the others in your group, then pressure you into buying things giving you small trinkets and marking them with your name. They want to make bundle deals but don't give you prices of individual items
When you went to the "town" shops the Haitians went into people's bags and said 8 know you have money. Then they would ask your name and start making things with your name and demand money. No thank you anymore.
Awful, pushy, and entrapping local vendors. Snatch you up the hill, probable chance of coming back poor. The only good beach was closed as well. One of the badges, he said it's "a walking beach". Unfortunately there is no such thing as a walking beach and this was a wasted stop all around. This portion of the island, aside from the port was fantastic. Nothing but nature, no nasty buildings of any kind, just a mountain.
It felt so amazing to get a small taste of my motherland! I have always dreamed of stepping foot in Haiti and Royal Caribbean helped to make that dream come true! Although I wasn't able to see the city of Okap that my mom grew up in, it was an honor to be so close! Thank you Royal Caribbean for all you do!
We were supposed to go to Perfect Day at Coco Cay but a storm rerouted us here. The beaches were beautiful and the water was so blue, since it's a Royal Caribbean owned island it wasn't as much of a cultural experience as we had hoped but still a nice tropical getaway. There are many locals that sell items they make, rows and rows of vendors. Be very careful, they are VERY aggressive. If they give you a "gift of a bracelet or necklace they expect you to pay more for an item they are selling you. Also don't continue to wear the gifted item, it is a signal to other vendors that you've purchased elsewhere and they will come after you too.
This is my happy place. The water is the most beautiful thing ever. I really hope to one day come back just to see my happy place once more. The beach is also stunning.
Labadee was really peaceful and nice to explore on your own, just what me and my wife decided to do.
I’m leaving a picture taken from the ‘dragon’s breath lookout point’, name given cause of the sound produced by the waves when hitting the rocks.
There are different activities that can be booked through the cruise like zip lining, parasailing, scenic boat rides and renting your own cabana at Nellie’s beach.
It was at Nellie’s beach where we decided to go for a swim. There are swings on the short. So if you would like to take a nice picture on it, be the first to get off the ship. It can get a bit crowded for a perfect picture moment.
There are vendors and gift shops to get local souvenirs. It is really easy to move around either walking or using their hop on hop off rides running constantly.
They do an awesome barbecue not to be missed. We ate like crazy. Do not stay on the ship, go out and enjoy what Labadee has to offer.
It was a beautiful day in a tropical paradise. I definitely recommend it and want to go back. The zipline view was amazing, the coaster was fun and even the waterslide was good. Then I dozed off to the sound of the waves on a beach lounger.
Haiti was an experience I'll never forget I love this little private land of Royal Caribbean a lot. I had the pleasure of being in the VIP section for the suites and it was an amazing experience drinks and food I brought to you and the buffet line is really short and you have your own private beach. We had an amazing waiter and lifeguards that made our experience all the better. They brought us umbrellas for the shade and gear for the beach. Overall just a really great experience.
Raining a bit, not the ports fault. Coaster was fun but kind of short.
Food was good, ppl were nice but they sure did push their wares HARD.
This was our very first caribbean destination and just stepping off the ship you were overwhelmed with culture. And I mean that in a good way. Steel drum band, warm weather, local villages and locals just welcoming you with open arms. Don't forget the awesome labadoozie cocktail. Just a perfect day in paradise. The zipline was phenomenal also.
Great island stop. Beaches are beautiful, shops are very interesting. Be prepared to be separated from your money, but they will wheel and deal.
Beautiful resort of royal Caribbean. Our stop for the day, relaxing on the beach, plenty if amazing entertainment, food and a zip line for the adventurous. Only negative was the forceful sales people selling their wares. The shop on the beach was ok. Beautiful walks around the resort. If you got tired toy could catch the island train to get you back to base. Loved Labadee. Would have liked to have seen more of Haitian real people and their culture.
Loved this place.
Although is only a Royal Caribbean site. And private place.
Worth the visit, the other side of Haiti.
We were originally scheduled to go to Perfect Day at Coco Cay but we were rerouted to Labadee. We were disappointed because we did specifically plan the vacation around Coco Cay but Labadee was a nice alternative.
Beautiful area! Bigger than it looks at first glance. So many things in Labadie to do and see. Accessible through Royal Caribbean. Can be accessed otherwise, but if you know, you know.
Royal Caribbean's stop here was better than expected after reading some negative reviews, as it was clean and pretty, with plenty of free lounge chairs and clean bathrooms, except for one. We didn’t bother with the outdoor market, as numerous people warned of the potential scams going on. It was way too crowded in the water at one point, and some people were smoking all over even though it’s designated areas only. The sand is soft but there were quite a bit of small rocks on some of the beaches. The beach on the inlet side was my favorite, with very calm waters, soft sand, but it got a bit crowded in the afternoon. The beaches on the other side were nice but it was much windier with less shade and the water was loaded with seaweed. The food was terrible and I hardly ate anything and waited until we got back on the ship. Hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, fruit, salad, and it was tolerable for this type of venue but nothing to write home about.
Gah.paradise defined. From the moment we docked until the ship set sail, my entire family was enthralled with this beach! The water is a gorgeous, clear blue, the sands silky white, and the temperature perfect with the ocean breezes. Spring for a cabana on Columbus Cove, you won't regret it!
Exciting built from the ground up Royal Caribbean resort. We enjoyed the calm chrystal clear water, zipline and other wonderful amenities. Only reason nit giving 5 stars is roller coaster was not working and not enough drinking water at resort. I recommend this place.
